Intern Big Data & Data Analytics (m/f) Munich Re


In the context of our Innovation and Digitalization initiative, we offer you the opportunity to be part of our team in a two to six-months internship. The internship provides you with the possibility to get a deeper understanding and insight into the international reinsurance business. Furthermore, you will be able to work in an interdisciplinary team, while handling and analyzing big data in order to develop new business models. Your placement will begin as soon as possible from September 2017 to January 2018 and last for at least two to six months.


  • Support Data Gathering Projects at different stages: conceptualization, implementation and evaluation
  • Research, preselection and structuring of internal and external data
  • Analysis and cleansing of complex data sets together with experts from various fields (e.g. underwriting, data analytics, reinsurance development)
  • Independently solve data related issues


  • Student of economics/management, information management or related fields
  • Interest in (re)insurance topics
  • Passion for innovation and technology and awareness of current digital trends, affinity to work with analytical methods, big data and structured data analysis
  • Creative, open-minded, hands-on mentality and excellent communication skills to handle different stakeholders
  • Proficiency in MS-Office (esp. Excel), fluent in English
