Postdoc (m/f) Surfactant Science Merck KGaA

Your role:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and innovative postdoctoral researcher who is fascinated by surfactant science and keen on applying his/her deep scientific knowledge within the Life Science business sector. You are going to investigate the root-cause of foaming in bioreactors and develop innovative strategies and novel chemistries to inhibit foaming. You will contribute to invention disclosures, publish scientific articles and present at international conferences. Your goal is to translate cutting edge science and technology into novel applications and products for the biopharmaceutical industry. The position is currently limited to 1.5 years.

Who you are:

  • PhD in Chemistry, Material Science, Biochemistry or Biotechnology (or a related discipline)
  • Profound theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of surfactant science and experience in the area of foaming/antifoaming is preferred
  • Knowledge in bioprocess engineering is a plus
  • Ability to work independently with strong Organizational skills, self-motivation with the ability to communicate and innovate in an interdisciplinary team
  • Strong English skills, knowledge of German is a plus
