BuyIn is the 50/50 Procurement Joint Venture between Deutsche Telekom and Orange. The young company combines the approximately 28 billion euros of annual spend of its shareholders in four main domains: Network Technology, Customer Equipment, Digital Home & Platforms and Information Technology. It also offers a Procurement Engineering expertise, based on the value-driven Design-to-Cost approach.
By pooling their procurement activities in this equal Joint Venture, the parent companies expect to achieve sustainable economies of scale and deliver annual savings through best price alignment, the aggregation of volumes, the harmonization of specifications and improved collaboration between the countries.
Your team

In your daily role, you will manage your tasks across BuyIn while reporting to the VP of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM). The SRM team bears responsibility for a good cooperation with our main suppliers by managing activities related to supplier life cycle, strategy initiatives, market intelligence, etc. The team works across the four domains of BuyIn, currently with a focus on Network Technology.

YOUR TASKS

The following interesting tasks will be part of your day to day work:

  • Active collaboration in the Supplier Relationship Management Process of BuyIn, DT and Orange:
  • Analyze and summarize information from internal and external sources for the preparation of briefings for meetings of executives with suppliers
  • Consolidate information into meaningful charts for the development of Supplier Strategies
  • Support in planning and executing Supplier Evaluations
  • Analysis of demand and order volume data using “big data” methods and advanced analytics
  • Handling and validation of essential data sources (tech. trends, market analysis, company operating figures and Investor Relations)
  • Weekly media analysis of Top Suppliers

YOUR PROFILE

The ideal candidate studies Business Administration and specializes in any of the following fields: International Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement or Strategic Management.

The ideal candidate also possesses the following abilities and knowledge:

  • Interest in the correlation between strategy, technology and procurement
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to summarize information and extract critical data
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication skills to interact inside and outside the company
  • Team spirit and the ability to work independently with a proactive behavior
  • Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Excellent written and spoken English (German and/or French are a plus)
  • Experience in an international and cross cultural environment is favorable
  • Enrolled as fulltime student for the complete duration of the internship
  • Highly desired: Knowledge and/or experience in Data Science, programming and Excel Power Pivots
